Yamaha PC-8

The PC-8 is a 3-piece boombox from Yamaha. In Japan it was called the CC-101. For a boombox, it was very high quality, offering Dolby B and C, a 5-band graphic EQ, and a full-logic, auto-reverse tape deck. It was offered in both silver and dark gray.

SPECS:

  • Weight 12 kg without batteries
  • Wood bass-reflex speakers, 4 ohms, with 12cm woofers and 3cm ceramic tweeters.
  • Fujitsu MB3730A amplifiers
  • Power output: Minimum of 2x13 watts on batteries (and 2x15 watts on AC) between 50Hz and 20KHz (at 4 ohms and 10% THD).
  • Wow and flutter 0.05%
  • Frequency response, when using metal tape, is 20 to 17,000 Hz +/-3 dB (which, if true, is VERY good for a boombox)
