This is a VERY loud ghettoblaster from 1983. It is nearly identical to the Power Port 500.

Uher Power Port 1

From the year 1983 comes the Power Port 1, a 3-piece ghettoblaster from Uher, a German brand. Its suggested retail price was 698 Deutsche Mark. It measures 684mm long, 248mm tall (handle down), and 182mm deep. It weighs 11.3 KG (25 lbs) without batteries. We don't know where it was manufactured, or by who. The speaker cases look like Aiwa designs (see Aiwa CA-100 or CA-W10). But the speakers themselves were made by Tatung, a Taiwanese company.

Audio power is provided by two Hitachi HA13001 amplifier chips, configured in BTL (bridged) mode. This would provide approximately 2x17.5 watts at 10% distortion, or 2x13 watts at 1% distortion. That is very strong for an 80s boombox!! It is VERY loud, with lots of bass. You do not need to use speaker cables, because there are electrical contacts on the sides of the speaker cases.

Note: There is another version of this ghettoblaster called the Power Port 500, which is identical except that its tuner has SW instead of LW.
