The JVC RC-828 is similar to the RC-838 model but plainer looking and has an asymetrical look.

Biphonic is JVC's proprietary wide-stereo setting. Wide stereo modes introduces a spatial effect to the sound field. Unfortunately, the Biphonic modes did now work well compared to Sanyo's wide mode and Panasonic's ambience modes. Perhaps it was no coincidence that in later boombox models, JVC did away with Biphonic modes and in fact, did not even offer a wide-stereo mode on some of their models including the very popular M70 and their flagship <a href="tiki-index.php?page=JVC+RC-M90" title="Introduced in 1981, the JVC M90 is considered by many to be the "King of Boomboxes". It was on LL Cool J's "Radio" album cover." class="wiki wiki_page">M90 model.
