The CFS-99 was a big and very colorful boombox from Sony with 8-inch woofers and big VU meters. It was sold in 1981.

Sony CFS-99

The Sony CFS-99 was sold in 1981, during the peak period for boombox quality and innovation. Sony always went their own way in terms of design and styling, and this model is no exception. The blend of colors used on it is unlike any other boombox. It is approximately 24 inches wide, and the front is dominated by 8-inch woofers, 2-inch tweeters, and big blue VU meters. The controls are mounted on a unique slanted surface that makes it easy to use regardless if you're sitting or standing. The tuner wheel is flywheel-weighted for fast tuning. The soft-touch deck has AMS (Automatic Music Sensor) and a frequency response of 30 to 15,000 Hz when using Metal tape. Wow and flutter is 0.075% WRMS. On the rear panel, it has inputs for Line In, Line Out, and Mics.

According to the service manual, its output power is 4.5W per channel (minimum) from 150 to 15,000 Hz, at 4 ohms impedance and no more than 10% total harmonic distortion. The peak output would obviously be higher.
