This was a European version of the Lasonic LPC-82 ghettoblaster

Schmid LPC-82

The Schmid LPC-82 was a re-branded European version of the Lasonic LPC-82. It is 65cm long and 25cm tall. It requires 220V, or 8 D-cell batteries. Remember there is a switch on the back to change from AC to DC. It also has Phono inputs which can be used to connect your MP3 player. No attenuator is needed....just set your MP3 player to a low volume level.

The speaker boxes contain 6-inch white woofers (Lucky brand, 4 ohms), 2-inch red tweeters (Lucky brand, 4 ohms), and red lights that blink to the music (if you raise the volume high enough). The amplifier consists of two Sanyo LA4440 chips, making it more powerful than I expected for a cheap Taiwanese box. It's not hi-fi by any means, but there's plenty of bass.
