The Promax J-1 was the ghettoblaster carried by Radio Raheem in the movie "Do the Right Thing". Many collectors feel that this is the best-sounding model within the "big black box" category. Most "big black boxes" are low quality, but this one sounds pretty good despite its humble origins. The photo below shows one that's been opened up. Notice that all 6 of its speakers appear to be conventional cone speakers, not cheap piezos. We have seen a Tecsonic version of this boombox with tiny, cheap piezo tweeters for the 5th and 6th speakers.
