This was one of Sony's most advanced models for 1980. While it has a traditional tuner wheel, the readout is digital.

Sony CFS-D7

An advanced model for its time (1980), the CFS-D7 has tons of features and high-quality Sony construction. In fact it actually has more features than most so-called "holy grails". There is a soft-touch logic deck with Dolby and a hide-away control panel. Manual and automatic recording levels. Mic fader. Alarm clock with timer function. LED meter with 22 segments. Separate tape bias and EQ settings.

This boombox measures 498mm wide and 274mm tall (with the handle down). It has 12cm woofers and 5 cm tweeters, and puts out 2x2 watts according to the EIAJ/DC standard. The tape deck's frequency response is 50 to 13,000 Hz, and its wow and flutter is 0.09% WRMS.
