Sharp GF-888

This GF-888 (Searcher-W) boombox was sold only in Japan. It was priced at 93,000 Yen. It is almost identical to the GF-818 but it has 3 sliders between the speakers instead of only 2. I'm not sure what those sliders do, but it's probably features like tape speed and echo.

This boombox measures 530 x 320 x 154 mm. The woofer size is 16cm. Notice how the chrome trim around the woofers does not actually line up with the woofers themselves. I don't know why they built it like that. But anyway, this along with the GF-555/666 were in my opinion the highest-quality boomboxes Sharp ever built. Take one apart and you'll see. Or just put it on a scale and notice how much it weighs!
