Panasonic RF-888

The RF-888, also called the GX-300, was an excellent-sounding mono boombox from Panasonic. It sounds warmer and more detailed than you would expect for a single-speaker mono ghettoblaster. It was offered in two colors, red and black. It came with a shoulder strap that could be snapped into some very sturdy spring-loaded slots. It takes four D-cell batteries, or it can be plugged into the wall.

The one shown here is a RF-888JB, with AM, FM, and shortwave radio bands on the tuner. Other models had different bands.
