The JVC PC-11 was a heavy, high-quality boombox from 1982. It sounds nice, but wouldn't be the best choice if you like heavy 808 bass.

JVC PC-11

The PC-11 P-Compo boombox was introduced in 1982. It's a component system consisting of the receiver PC-R11C, the tape deck PC-D11C, and the speakers PC-B11K. When assembled, the system measures 556mm wide and 294mm tall including the handle. Power output is listed as 2x15 watts max. The tape deck has soft-touch controls, Metal capability, music search, timer start, and Super ANRS (Automatic Noise Reduction System). Wow and flutter is 0.05% WRMS. The speakers are 12cm diameter, 6 ohm impedance, sensitivity 90dB/W/m. They have "High Ceramic" cones made of a mixture of paper pulp and ceramic fibers. There is also a ceramic coating on the center caps, and JVC says this helps extend the high frequencies.

Optional accessories included the L-E5 linear tracking turntable, the CB-5K carrying bag, the CB-85K shoulder strap, and some larger speakers (RB-95K).

NOTE: There is an all-black version called the Vector Research VMC-100. We don't know if it was built by JVC.
