I'm guessing this is probably the only boombox Clarion ever made.

Clarion XC-5500

Clarion is a Japanese manufacturer of car audio gear. This XC-5500A Excite may have been the only boombox sold by them! It consists of 3 pieces that attach together suitcase-style, like the Panasonic RX-6400. When closed, it measures 50x27x35cm. It was intended to be a guitar amp and rhythm composer. It's got adjustable echo, distortion, tempo, tape speed, AM/FM tuner, wireless mic, and many other features. The examples we've seen have all been rated for 100 volts and had an FM range of 76 to 90 MHz, so we believe it was sold in Japan only. Its amplifier consists of two Hitachi HA1388 modules, configured in BTL mode. Output power is a claimed 2x15 watts.
